Demolition Complete

The boys were at it all day Monday and Tuesday, and by this morning, most of the hardwood had been ripped out and the remaining garbage was already at the dump.  I love getting to the stage where we can really see what we're working with in the space.

We met with some of the key stakeholders this morning, and we have a strategy for the design and finish look of the main room.  As with any member driven organization, we have to ensure we're involving the members while keeping an eye on budget, timelines and overall aesthetics - a great job of juggling will be required. :-)

Yesterday wasn't without surprises... with odd choices of poorly placed remnants of insulation...

...to water damage under and behind kitchen cabinets!

While most people get to see a new, nicely finished end product at the the end of the job, I get satisfaction knowing that underneath it all, we will have a solid foundation of insulation, water tight pipes and a properly supported, mold-free floor!
